How to Request an Inspection
We aim to create an easy-to-use tool to save both the applicant and the staff time, allowing both to focus on parts of the process that computers cannot do.
Inspections can only be scheduled with the Inspectors when your case or license has moved to the 'Issued' status. This may vary by different types, so it's important to note that if you don't see an inspection option available in your portal for your specific case or license type, then it may be triggered at a different status per the Rutherford County Staff requirements.
- Step 1: On the main navigation, select your username.
- Step 2: After selecting your name, it will open a dropdown menu, select 'My Profile'
- Step 3: Select 'Permits' from your profile screen, depending on your project type.
- Step 4: From your permit profile, an 'Inspections' tab will appear when the record is in the necessary status identified by the Staff that inspections are ready to be scheduled. Please click on the 'Inspections' option.
- Step 5: Under the inspection tab, you will go to manage all your inspections. It will display a list of all inspections. To schedule an inspection, click the 'Request Inspection' button.
- Step 6: From here, you'll complete the request form by providing your inspection type(s), proposed inspection date and any details you want to share with the Building Inspections team. After hitting 'save' it will send your inspection request to an intake team member, and they will review your request and accept the request. Once the inspection request is accepted your inspection record status will update to 'Accepted Invite'.
- Step 7: You will receive an email confirmation when your inspection request is confirmed, denied, or modified.
